Lynn was the devoted wife of Wayne Schrader, a cherished grandmother, and a beloved mother and friend whose warmth and kindness touched everyone she met. She lived a life rooted in love, building a home filled with laughter, traditions, and unwavering devotion alongside Wayne. As a grandmother, she shared endless joy through her stories, her cooking, and her gentle wisdom, always offering comfort and unconditional love. Lynn’s presence was a source of strength and peace, and her memory will forever be carried in the hearts of her family. She is survived by her husband Wayne and her grandchildren, who will continue her legacy of love and light. A memorial service will be held at a later date, and the family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to a cause close to Lynn’s heart. Mike Thompson 09/03/1966-08/25/2025 Michael ''Mike" A. Thompson, a shining light in the lives of those who knew him, passed away on August 25, 2025, at the age of 58. As the loving partner of Andrea Busch, Mike leaves behind a legacy of love, music, and kindness. Born to the late Ernest Arthur 'Art' Thompson, Jr. and Sandra Thompson, Mike grew into a talented musician, philosopher, poet, and lyricist. His songs, infused with creativity, wit, and intelligence, continue to inspire and uplift all who hear them. Open Mic nights at Venice café were a highlight of his week, where he'd share his art and support fellow musicians. Mike's gentle heart and caring nature made him a beloved Activities Assistant at a nursing home, where he brought joy and comfort to those in need. His family, including sister Susan Molski and brother-in-law Andy Molski, and nephews Brad and Nick Molski, and countless friends in the music community, will deeply miss his presence. Vivi Jo Wittler 11/14/1941-08/25/2025 Viva Jo “Vi” Wittler, 83, passed away peacefully on August 25, 2025, with her daughters by her side. She was born on November 14, 1941, in Macomb, Illinois, to the late Wayne and Josephine Barth. Family was Vi’s greatest joy. She was the proud mother of four daughters: Pamela (Eric) Miller; Brenda (Mike) Howsmon; Cynthia (Kent) Humphrey; and Michelle (Marshall) McGrath. She cherished her grandchildren, Tara (Zach) McGovern, Adam (Jess) Miller, James Howsmon, and Josh (Rachel) Howsmon, and delighted in being “Gigi” to her great-grandchildren, Graham and Emma McGovern. She was preceded in death by her parents, Wayne and Josephine Barth, and her grandparents, Charles and Portia Hodges, and Pete and Myrtle Barth. She is survived by her brothers, Douglas Deems of Kingman, AZ, and Gregory Deems of Cortez, CO, along with extended family and dear friends. Frederick Tonnies 06/22/1943-08/20/2025 Frederick Edward Tonnies, age 82, passed away peacefully on August 20, 2025, in his home. Fred was a devoted family man and a passionate Mizzou sports fan who found his greatest joy in time spent with family and friends. He had a remarkable ability to make others laugh, and everyone always felt welcome in his home and heart. Fred is survived by his wife, Kathleen (Jaworowski) Tonnies; his son, Joseph Tonnies; and his daughter, Sarah (William “Trey”) Pope. He started his education in a two-room school house on Conway Road, in Chesterfield, and completed his studies at Chaminade College Prep. After graduation, he began his career in residential building with Burton Duenke Construction Co., for whom he worked 40 plus years. Don was a master carpenter and built the house where his family grew up. Doug Gross 12/30/1947-07/10/2025 Click Doug Gross, 77, passed away peacefully on July 10, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. Born on December 30, 1947 in St. Louis, Doug was the only child of John and Margaret (née Ernst) Gross. He attended McCluer High School and served in the U.S. Army Reserves. Doug furthered his education at the University of Missouri-St. Louis before embarking on a 20-year career at McDonnell Douglas (MCAUTO Division), where he held a senior management position that allowed him to travel extensively, both nationally and internationally. In 1991, Doug’s passion for sports and memorabilia led him to open Chesterfield Baseball Cards, transforming a cherished childhood hobby into a thriving family business. The amount of memorabilia that passed through his hands could cover a continent, but that's not why people will remember him. He was friendly, personable, and loyal. He was fun to talk to and could hold a room captive with his stories. He knew everyone and would talk to anyone! He would always ask, "Where are you from?" He was the memorabilia version of Pawn Stars long before it was on TV. He was one of a kind. He was simply… Doug. Griffard, 83, passed away peacefully on August 17, 2025, in his hometown. Born and raised in St. Louis, George was a lifelong resident who took pride in his roots and cherished the community that shaped him. He spent his career at Anheuser-Busch, where he was known for his dedication and camaraderie with colleagues. George was a devoted family man whose greatest joy came from spending time with those he loved. Whether gathered around the dinner table or cheering on his St. Louis Cardinals with a Budweiser, George’s warmth, quick wit, and easygoing charm made every moment memorable. His sense of humor was legendary-he had a knack for making people laugh and feel welcome, no matter the occasion. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Barbara Griffard (Klein); his parents, Norbert and Marie Griffard; and his siblings Leo Griffard, Susan Kuhnert, Jerry Griffard, Danny Griffard, and Mary Ann Griffard. Barbara McAndrews 09/03/1964- 08/12/2025 Barbara “Barb” McAndrews, age 60, passed away peacefully on August 12, 2025, in her home surrounded by family. She is survived by her husband, Greg McAndrews; her three children, Macy McAndrews, Tommy (Anna) McAndrews, and Mara McAndrews; and her siblings, Mike (Sally) Ross, Tom (Annie) Ross, Jim Ross, and Molly Ross. She is predeceased by her parents, Bill and Peggy RossBeing a mother was the calling of her life. She poured all of herself into her children and their pursuits from baseball and softball to theatre and music. She was a selfless caregiver for her mother and her aunt in their final years, and she never refused a request for help.
